I haven’t done a blogging tag in ages! I think the last tag I took part in on this blog, was The Christmas Tag 2020 during blogmas. Anyway, I love the idea of the Behind The Blogger tag and when Michelle from Boomer Eco Crusader tagged me, I couldn’t resist it.
About the Behind The Blogger tag
First of all, thank you so much to Michelle for tagging me, I really appreciate it. You can read her blog post here. Olivia from Olivia Lucie Blake created this wonderful tag and you can read her post here.
The rules are simple, share 4 facts about yourself that your audience wouldn’t know and tag others to do the same. Look out for the end of my blog post where I will share who I’m tagging!
I’m allergic cats
I’m sure you know that I have cats, however, you probably don’t know that I am allergic to them (as well as dogs, horses and rabbits). When I was around 1 or 2, I was diagnosed with asthma and a bit later we found out that fur made my asthma a lot worse. If I touch them and then my lips or face, my lips will start to swell/puff up which is really uncomfortable. I try to not pick them up in my PJs and I have a blanket on my bed for Monty to sleep on. I have definitely noticed a difference since being away from them in Bournemouth. However, I am definitely a crazy cat lady and I love them so much! Even when they make me ill.
I used to want to live in Spain
When I was younger, my dream was to move abroad and live in Spain when I was older. Part of the reason I took Spanish as one of my GCSE options was so that I could learn Spanish well and get a job or something out there later. I was fully intending on taking it for A-level and doing a degree in Spanish. I did a week of work experience at a language school and didn’t end up liking it as much as I thought. I had a rethink and took a deeper interest in geography & our environment. This led me to study environmental science for my degree!
My dream job is to be a writer
Ever since I was a little girl, my dream job was to be a writer. Do you remember those Fairy Magic books? I used to absolutely love them, and I even created my own. I designed the cover, wrote the story & the blurb on the back. I really wish that I kept them, as they would be amazing to look back on.
Although I no longer want to be a fictional writer, I would still love to have a career related to writing. For a while, I have been thinking about environmental journalism as it combines the two things I am passionate about. That was part of the reason I started this blog.
I’m not entirely sure what I want to do for my career anymore. Through my environmental science degree, I have found out that I am quite interested in environmental law. I also like the idea of working at a nature reserve as I love wildlife and nature and I love sustainability. It’s a hard one! Whatever I end up doing, I want to continue writing in some form. At the moment, it’s this blog.

My guilty pleasure is watching game shows
I have always loved watching game shows! My parents and I always watch a game show episode with dinner. We went through a phase of Pointless, then Eggheads, The Chase, Catchphrase etc. It’s just our favourite thing, I think it’s why I love quizzes so much. If there’s a celebrity version of a game show, that’s even better in my opinion. Christmas special game show episodes are another level! One of my favourite things is highlighting the shows I want to watch over the Christmas period, in the Radio Times magazine. There doesn’t seem to be so many this year, probably due to covid. My current favourite game show is Richard Osman’s House Of Games, The Wheel, Tenable and I’ve recently got into Would I Lie To You?
There we have it! 4 facts you probably don’t know about me. Let me know if you knew any of these things, I’m curious aha.

Best wishes, Cx

It’s fun getting to know you more! Funny enough, I always assumed you were a cat mama. I’m just surprised to know you are allergic to them but still have cats at home. 😅

Haha, my family had cats before I was born & have always been in their life so we just kept them and then got more when our previous ones passed away x

Thanks so much for carrying on the tag, Caroline!
I’m also allergic to cats but I love them anyway. We don’t have one at the moment but I’d love to get another one.
And my daughters used to love those fairy books too when they were younger. We had hundreds of them at one point…or at least it felt like we had hundreds.
Caroline says
No worries 🙂 Aww, that would be cute!
Seriah Sargenton says
Awe I loved learning a bit more about you. I think it’s so ironic that you’re allergic to a ton of animals yet you also love them.
Caroline says
I know right! x

Okay I confess it did make me laugh, as another Crazy Cat Lady, to read that you are allergic. How would you cope in my house I wonder as we have 16? I suffer with lots of allergies too and we don’t allow the cats in the bedroom because of that. And re game shows, your memory with your parents rings a bell. When I visit my parents in the UK we all sit down and watch Pointless and The Chase!
Caroline says
Haha, it would probably be hard but I would love it! That must be a lot of fun. Game shows are such fun 🙂

Thanks for the tag, Caroline! It was lovely to get to know more about you. My finace is super allergic to cats but he is a crazy cat dad and is always playing and snuggling with our two kitties regardless of his allergies (he wants more than 2 now! haha). I hope you continue to get a chance to write, even not as a career and just as a blogger or part-time novelist.
