Blogmas day 10 | Christmas treats

December 19, 2020 Filed Under: Lifestyle, Blog posts

I couldn’t do blogmas without doing a baking blog post so here are three Christmas treats that are easy to make <3

Reindeer pretzels

Ingredients:

  • Pretzels
  • Rolos
  • Writing icing OR edible eyes
  • m&ms

Step 1: Put the pretzels on a plate with one rolo in the middle of each one.

Step 2: Put them in the microwave for 10 seconds.

Step 3: Put a red m&m near the bottom of the rolo.

Step 4: Draw on eyes at the top of the rolo OR add eyes at the top of the rolo.

Step 5: Break another pretzel in half to make antlers at the top of the rolo.

Step 6: Put in the fridge for about an hour.

Finished product – out of the fridge!

Peppermint hot chocolate

Ingredients:

  • Instant hot chocolate powder
  • Milk
  • Candy cane OR peppermint essence
  • Squirty cream
  • Marshmallows

Step 1: Get your favourite mug and put in 4 heaped teaspoons of instant hot chocolate powder.

Step 2: Add 2 teaspoons of water and mix

Step 3: Add the peppermint essence – skip this step if you have a candy cane.

Step 4: Fill your cup half way with milk and then the rest with water and mix.

Step 5: Squirt cream on the top, add the marshmallows and the candy cane.

Marshmallow reindeers

Ingredients:

  • Marshmallows
  • Chocolate
  • Pretzels
  • m&ms
  • Writing icing OR edible eyes

Step 1: Melt some chocolate in a bowl.

Step 2: Push the marshmallow onto the BBQ stick or a cocktail stick.

Step 3: Dip the marshmallow into the chocolate

Step 4: Put on the red m&m, draw on eyes OR put on edible eyes

Step 5: Break a pretzel in half and put it in the marshmallow for antlers

Step 6: Leave in the fridge for an hour or so.

Hope you enjoyed this post, let me know if you make any of my Christmas treats!

I’ve made these before, except I used Cadbury button chocolate instead of Rolo’s. They keep their shape in the oven. Instead of m&m’s, I used chocolate smarties (they’re colorful candy-coated chocolates). These chocolate reindeers are some of my favourite Christmas treats. They’re delicious 😋
