Shopping sustainably can be hard, especially when you don’t know where to look. Since Veo approached me, I fell in love with their website! They have sent me a box of homeware goodies in return for a review and I have been loving using them.

Who is Veo?

Veo is a sustainable marketplace that hosts over 175 independent brands in fashion, beauty, food, home and much more. There are lots of shops that sell eco-friendly items which is a brilliant thing, but it can get a bit overwhelming. This is the solution, shop at Veo.world! They choose the brands carefully and must fit with their criteria and their 3 pillars:

  1. Kindvegan, cruelty-free, fair pay wage, safe working conditions and promotes quality of life for humans and animals
  2. Healthy – free from toxins, harmful & hazardous ingredients, as well as promoting health and happiness for the mind, body and soul
  3. Sustainable – planet awareness, sustainability, biodiversity and green development

Copper Tin Soy Candle

The first product in the box was a candle! I love a candle so you know I was super excited to receive this. Ever since I went to a book cafe (The Crooked Book, if you are in Boscombe you should definitely visit!) that was burning incense, I have been wanting a sage candle of some sort. The benefits of this candle are to promote calmness and relaxation which is definitely something I struggle with. I can’t wait to use it in the evenings when my studying is done for the day!

This candle is made with 100% natural plant wax, essential oils and a cotton wick. They use a blend of rapeseed and soybean wax from renewable and sustainable sources. The candles are also hand-poured!

If this candle scent doesn’t take your fancy, why not try a different candle?

Mini Mix Kit

The next thing out of Veo’s homeware product bundle was this Mini Mix Kit. Mix Clean Green has created cleaning products that reduce your environmental impact whilst making sure your house gets cleaned! Let’s dive into the individual products.

Mini Multi Mix

The Mini Multi Mix is the product I am holding in my hand in the photo and it’s a multi-purpose cleaner. The bottle contains 20ml which is enough to make up a 300ml bottle by just adding water. It also smells like orange which is a plus, especially as it starts to get towards Christmas! I love discovering new brands that do a cleaner spray and testing them all out, once my current one is empty I will be trying this one out. I’ll keep you posted 🙂

Bath Mix

This is a really useful product as it is designed to remove the grease and grime from your bath, shower, taps and sink. It seems so ironic that these places need cleaning when they are also cleaning us! If yours doesn’t need this bath mix, it can be used on other items that are hard to clean. A frying pan is the first thing that comes into my mind…especially as the bottom is getting very dirty.

Shiny Mix

Shiny Mix tablets are used to clean your hard surfaces – kitchen appliances, glass etc. In the Mini Mix Kit, there are 4 tablets which equate to one dose. To use, add the tablets to a 150ml bottle and then add water which is a super simple and sustainable cleaning method. You can also add a couple of tablets to your toilet and leave them overnight.

Toilet Mix

The Toilet Mix contains just 50g but makes 1 litres worth of toilet cleaner! It’s amazing how smaller the carbon footprint is of all of these products when you just take out the water which we have at home. The product’s ingredients are natural and plant-derived with a scent of lavender and organic lemon oil.

Whizz Mix

The final product in the Mini Mix Kit is the Whizz Mix which contains 3 cubes that are a bit like toilet bombs! By using this, you only need to do a quick clean with the bomb neutralising odours and freshening it up.

I’m almost excited to clean the toilet because I want to test these products out.

Organic Cotton Produce Bag

The next product in Veo’s homeware box was a produce bag! These are absolutely essential when buying fruit, veg and bread. I use mine all the time, even if the shop has a paper bag, it’s much better to use your own bags. Some supermarkets and shops have stopped offering their own bags which I’m really happy about so it’s definitely handy to keep one with your shopping bags. This produce bag is made from 100% organic cotton and is cruelty-free and vegan. If they become dirty or you want to clean them, simply put them with your normal laundry (on cold) and hang up to dry. I have a post coming soon about how to do your laundry sustainably 💚

Vegan Hand Sanitising Foam

I have been using this hand sanitiser for a few days now and I love it. At first, I wondered why it was foam, but it’s so that you don’t get dry skin. My skin gets dry very easily so this product is very useful for me. Whilst it doesn’t contain alcohol, this hand sanitiser actually has a higher bacteria and virus kill rate than alcoholic sanitisers. It’s a natural plant-based product, made in Britain, is never tested on animals and is pet-safe -> something very important with us who have pets!

Veo have given me a code for the first 10 people! To get get £10 off your first order, use ENVIROLINE10.

Best wishes, Cx
