Introducing my Plastic-Free July challenge

June 30, 2021 Filed Under: Environmental, Blog posts, Plastic Free July, Special Days, Sustainability

It’s almost Plastic-Free July time! As an environmental blogger, I have lots of things planned and I can’t wait to share them with you all πŸ₯° This year instead of only giving out tips, I have created a Plastic-Free July challenge for everyone to join in with.

What is Plastic-Free July?

Plastic-Free July is an initiative to reduce the consumption of plastic. It started out in Western Australia and has now spread to a worldwide campaign! In 2020, 326 million people took part in over 177 countries across the world – that in itself is amazing πŸ’š

Introducing my Plastic-Free July challenge

This year, I’m super excited to announce that I’ve created a calendar full of daily challenges for Plastic-Free July! I brainstormed lots of ideas but ultimately, I wanted it to be doable for everyone. There’s no point in creating a calendar of daily plastic-free challenges if they aren’t financially possible.

The first daily challenge is to create your own plastic-free challenge for the month. For me, I have decided to switch to a more sustainable deodrant (review coming soon), but the challenge could be anything. It could be to go entirely plastic-free for the month, to make a sustainable swap, read more about plastic pollution, make more of an effort to do more litter pics. Literally anything to do with plastic!

For the whole of July, I’m going to be posting daily on Instagram with each challenge. I have even created a hashtag – #plasticfreejulycalendar and if you post a picture or a story with the hashtag, I will share it on my story! I want this to be fun whilst also making a difference 🌍

Could this get any better? I’m glad you asked ✨

If you subscribe to my newsletter, you can have FULL access to my freebie library launching tomorrow, included will be a checklist to accompany this calendar!

Are you going to be joining in with my challenge? Let me know in the comments <3

Best wishes, Cx

Such a wonderful post and great ideas. I do batch cooking at least twice a month and cook all my lunches for the whole week, it’s great. I look forward to trying out more of your suggestions. Such a great idea to have a Plastic free month calendar 😁 thanks for sharing!

It’s such a great idea to stay plastic-free the whole month; although, it’s not as easier as it looks! I am also in favour of sustainable things, and trying my best every day to live by less is more!

Good luck with the challenge, Caroline πŸ™‚

I have been working on reducing my plastic usage the past few years, because there’s just so many problems with it. This calendar is a good idea, providing concrete tasks that people can follow. I may try to hit a few of them myself.
